CHICAGO (PRNewswire-FirstCall/WorldTourismNews.eu) - Continental Airlines now presents FareLock, an option that offers customers the possibility to hold reservations and locking tickets during 72 hours or seven days with no obligation to purchase a ticket prices. The new feature, available for a fee on certain domestic and international routes gives customers additional flexibility to plan their travel and avoid the risk of rising prices or flight is sold out room.
Customers can choose to FareLock during booking at continental.com reservations and opt for 72 hours or a hold of seven days. They may return to complete the transaction at any time between the purchase of the lock and its expiry, or they can choose automatic ticketing feature tickets at the end of the lock period. Take FareLock, fees starting at $5 for 72 hours and $9 for a hold of seven days, will vary based on a number of factors such as the route, number of days of departure and the length of the hold.
"FareLock is an innovative option for customers who need extra time to plan their trip before purchasing a ticket," said Chris Amenechi, CEO of merchandising. "This new option is another way that continental gives our customers more choices and more control over their travel experience."
The carrier will continue to offer its flexible 24-hour reservation policy allowing reservation changes and cancellations with full refund without charge within 24 hours of booking. Customers choosing FareLock 24 hours flexible booking policy remains in force on the ticket, although FareLock fees are non-refundable.
